Tanja Vojnović – Dance Journey

"My passion to dance never faded since when I was 3 years old. It was escape from a real world. Music is the breath of life that moves us—dance is how we let it speak."

Dance has been Tanja's passion from a young age. In 2009, alongside Anja Prešern, she began working on the idea of creating more swing dance events. Today, Studio Dansa stands as one of the leading organizations for swing dancing in Slovenia.

Before discovering West Coast Swing (WCS), she explored Ballroom and Hip-Hop in the 90s. After an eight-year break, she found her way back to dance through Swing. In 2004, she started taking classes with Nejc Zupan, one of Slovenia’s top instructors. Just three months into Lindy Hop, she attended the GNSH festival in London, where she took a WCS taster class with Olivier Massart & Henriette Koefoed—an experience that sparked her love for the dance.

At the time, there were no WCS teachers in Slovenia, so she continued training in Lindy Hop, Balboa, and Blues while attending international festivals across Europe. However, her passion for WCS never faded. Determined to learn, she traveled to Paris, where she had the opportunity to study with Tessa Cunningham Monroe and Myles Monroe—an experience that left a lasting impression and solidified her commitment to mastering WCS.

Over the years, Tanja has continued learning from some of the best WCS dancers and instructors in the world, including Benji Schwimmer, John Lindo, Tatiana Mollmann, Jordan Frisbee, Michael Kielbasa, Catriona Wiles, Arjay Centeno, Robert Cordoba, Melanie Stocker Bucher, Jennifer DeLuca, Virginie Grondin, Maxence Martin, Tori Zzaoui, Maxim Zzaoui, Adam & Rita Jori, Mario Robau, Matt Auclair, Sonya & Stephen White, Jang Widler, Paul Warden, Jessica Cox, and many more.

She began teaching West Coast Swing with Tilen Konte in 2015, and since 2017, she has been instructing at Studio Dansa alongside Tom Čebular, offering WCS classes and workshops. Additionally, she organizes the international WCS Insomnia event in Slovenia, first international WCS festival in the country.

Tom Čebular – Dance Journey

Tom Čebular became familiar with dance in his teenager years practicing and competeing in standard dances under the auspices of Meta Zagorc. After a longer break in dancing he became excited over swing and the dances it represents (six count, lindy hop, charleston, balboa, collegiate shag). In year 2013 he started with west coast swing and a passion for this dance is still strong. He started practicing with teacher Matjaž Brinovec. He is a regular atendee on international wcs festivals (Budafest, Hungarian open, Midland swing, Bavarian Open, Augsburg swing station, Milan modern swing and many others). He also participates in competitions, where he also earned a place in the WCDS rankings by reaching the finals.
